Magister Observation Report: Colon Agent No. 6
The Magisters are a race with profound intelligence, and were responsible for the development and research of weaponry as well as facilities within the Vulgus. However, they were also the lowest class of Vulgus, a slave class. There is speculation that they were not always within the slave class. Even shortly after joining humanity, there were clear class distinctions among them. From their stories of past glories, humanity was able to deduce that they had a resentment toward the elite Vulgus.
The Magisters' contact with humanity was within a decade or so after the Apocalypse, when the Vulgus came from Qliphoth to Ingris. Their reasons for approaching humanity are complex, but [----] was the biggest reason.
To join humanity, the Magisters made a mass exodus, taking with them key development components, materials from Qliphoth, and research they were working on. To protect against the risk of these being stolen during their escape, they created Encrypted Vaults and hid them throughout Ingris. They can only be opened by Magisters or humans who possess Arche, the "Descendants," which suggests that the Magisters knew of Arche's existence before they joined humanity, and designed the vaults with the certainty that humanity would be on their side.
The Magisters caught in the act of fleeing incurred the wrath of Karel and the Dominator. General Amon, the leader of the Legion of Immortality, who had been placed in charge of them was held accountable. When it was discovered that they had tried to collude with humanity, the vast majority of Magisters were purged, and those who survived were sent to various parts of Ingris where the remains of the Ancestors were thought to be buried and forced into servitude. A prime example is the "Asylum" in Agna Desert. A second attempt to escape was made by some of the Magisters, and eventually the Legion of Immortality was moved to a military facility in the Sterile Land. The Agna Desert was placed under Karel's command.
I noticed something unusual about these allies of humans in Albion. There is a hierarchy among the Magisters, but unlike the regular Vulgus troops, there are no titles or honorifics among their ranks. This is believed to be due to a long history of a lack of respect within the Vulgus, as well as their internal rules, including their council election process.
There are three ranks of Magisters: Chairmen, Councilors, and Artisans, and the ranks appear to be subject to change based on internal rules. All Magisters are members of the Council and can apply for and be elected to the position of Chairman if they hold the rank of Councilor.
Albion HQ cannot intervene in matters of their rank and hierarchy, and the Council of Magisters has access to and can provide input to all of Albion Headquarters' most sensitive secrets and operations. Furthermore, Albion Headquarters is responsible for accommodating or fulfilling the demands of the Council of Magisters to the fullest extent possible.
