Weapon development sometimes begins with an idea that stands out from the others. This time was no exception. While research and development for a new melee weapon was in full swing, someone made a suggestion. "Let's attach a fiery energy output device to the weapon, like a blast furnace." The idea of some crazy weapons developer. Seriously, how would you even attach something like that to a weapon? But then the idea caught on. "Excellent, let's do it!" That was the moment the Furnace, the prototype of the Deus Ex Manus, was born.
